Open Settings → Recording → Calibrate microphone and follow the prompts in the quietest room you have access to. Phone microphones vary by roughly ±15 dB out of the box, so a one-time calibration meaningfully improves the numbers in your case file. If a reading looks suspicious, you can reset calibration from the same screen.
NoiseLog verifies your Pro entitlement with the App Store on every cold start. If a purchase has been refunded or revoked, the app will detect this on the next launch and downgrade automatically.
NoiseLog stores everything on-device, by design. Uninstalling the app removes the local database, and there is no cloud backup — we cannot recover incidents after a reinstall. If you want a backup, use the JSON or CSV export (Pro) and keep the file somewhere safe before uninstalling.
Make sure the iPhone is signed into the same Apple ID that originally bought Pro. Check Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases on the device. If you upgraded under a different Apple ID, sign into that account first, then tap Restore Purchase again.
Yes. In the Records or Reports list, long-press an item to enter selection mode, pick the ones you want to move, then tap MOVE in the bottom action bar and choose a target case.
Quiet hours apply to incidents recorded while the window is active. If you just enabled them, existing entries are re-flagged in the background — pull to refresh the Records list if anything looks stale. Verify the window in Settings → Quiet Hours (the window can wrap past midnight, e.g. 22:00 → 07:00).
Use Generate Report to produce a court-ready PDF for a date range, or the JSON / CSV exports from the Export tab’s ⋯ menu (both Pro). PDFs are also saved to the in-app vault for re-sharing later.
